How to reschedule a speaking lesson

Learn how to reschedule your Swap Language speaking lesson, including the 24-hour notice requirement and what happens if a new time cannot be agreed.

Sometimes your plans change. That’s completely normal.

If you need to move a speaking lesson, here’s how it works.

The 24 hour rule

You can reschedule a lesson if you give more than 24 hours notice before the lesson starts.

If you reach out early and everyone in the group agrees, the lesson can be moved.

If you give less than 24 hours notice, the lesson cannot be rescheduled.

Why this rule exists

Your lesson is part of a shared group schedule.

When one lesson moves, it affects the other learners and your teacher.

Having a clear rule keeps things fair and predictable for everyone.

Group agreement is required

If you want to move a lesson, everyone in the group needs to agree on a new time.

If one person cannot make the new time, the lesson will stay as planned.

If you cannot attend

If something comes up and you cannot join, the lesson will still take place for the rest of the group.

The lesson is recorded, and you can watch it afterwards for up to 90 days.

This way, you can still follow along and catch up on what you missed.

In rare situations

We understand that unexpected things can happen.

In rare cases, a lesson can be moved with short notice if the situation is outside your control.

Examples include:

Medical emergencies
Serious travel disruption
Urgent work situations that could not be planned

These situations are handled case by case.

How to reschedule

If you need to move a lesson, contact your group and teacher as early as possible.

The earlier you ask, the easier it is to find a time that works for everyone.

In short

More than 24 hours notice
You can reschedule if everyone agrees.

Less than 24 hours notice
The lesson stays as planned.
